WHAT I DO
The majority of my professional life is spent treating individuals from eighteen to ninety in either psychotherapy or psychoanalysis. I am committed to careful listening to my patients, to truly hearing what they have to say and to providing a safe space in order to facilitate exploration and growth. Psychoanalytic concepts form the backdrop of my work. I believe in the importance of early childhood experiences and see the patterns of the past replayed and repeated in the present. I also believe in the power of the unconscious to influence us in ways that are outside our awareness. I do not, however, in any way minimize the effect adult experiences have on our personality and development. In fact, the entire philosophy behind my treatment is that the therapist, as a present day warm, caring, involved individual, can help to bring about significant and long-lasting change.
